Please join us in congratulating Ella Goldsmith, who has been selected by World Rugby to officiate at the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England later this year.
Ella will be one of ten referees to feature at the World Cup.
Ella now takes her place on the Association’s esteemed World Cup Honour Roll, joining a proud tradition of referees representing NSW and Australia at the highest level of our game. From Bob Fordham in 1987 to Amy Perrett, Angus Gardner and many more — Ella becomes part of a legacy built on excellence, commitment, and integrity.
This is a landmark moment — not only for Ella, but for our Association. Her selection is testament to the strength of women’s officiating, the progress of the game, and the enduring culture of support and development within NSWRRA.
What makes Ella’s journey so compelling is not just her technical ability, but her unwavering determination, character, and work ethic. She has earned this opportunity through years of hard work, humility, and a deep commitment to continual growth — qualities that make her an outstanding referee and an even better role model.
Ella’s achievement stands on the shoulders of those who came before and now inspires the next generation to follow. We celebrate her success with immense pride.
Well done, Ella — we’re all behind you.
Yours in rugby
Stu Dickinson and the NSWRRA Executive.
